八王子古本まつり第19回

年2回春と秋に八王子駅北口の商店街・ユーロードで開催される、八王子古本まつり。2009年秋の初回からイベント企画とヴィジュアルデザインに関わり続けている。古本を取り扱いながら、開催ごとにテーマを設けて、トークイベントや特設ブースを構えるのが、八王子古本まつりの特長だ。第19回のテーマは「染める」。ポスターの「藍」とフライヤーの「茜」は、日本の天然染の色をシンボリックに伝えてくれる色。絞り染めの一つ「麻葉模様」を、背景に配した。

Hachioji Used-Book Festival has been holding on You-Road, a shopping street near the north gate of Hachioji Station in spring and autumn every year. We’ve been taking part in the festival to plan the programs and design the poster and flyer. The theme of the 19th is DYEING. We chose indigo blue and rose madder as symbolic colours of Japanese natural dyeing for the poster and flyer. And put the flax-leaf pattern that is one of the methods of dyeing cloth regularly patterned.
